The project proposes a new mixed use building on the corner of Chorro & Foothill with ground floor retail, and housing above, with affordable and market rate units. The site is currently located on a vacant triangular shaped lot. The housing consists of 27 apartment units, 4 of which will be rent restricted to affordable households with very low income. The retail component includes 1600 square feet of space on the ground floor. Lastly, there will be a bicycle lounge for residents. This project is focused on enhancing the pedestrian, bicycle, and public transport experience in the area. The development will also improve the traffic intersection by adding a bike lane, bus turnout, and will widen the turn lane from Chorro to Foothill. The resident experience will include special incentives to promote the use of bicycles as well as extensive bicycle storage.
